This cobalt blue ceramic sauce bowl was hand-painted and glazed by Rezgar Mamandi at Manna Pottery in Sterling, Virginia. A rim of cobalt blue frames rows of painted floral arches in blue, teal and yellow, with a glossy red glaze inside. At 3⅝ inches (9.2 cm) wide, it is a one-of-a-kind sauce bowl for chips and salsa.
Rows of pointed arches wrap around the bowl, each one filled with a painted blossom and leaves in cobalt blue, teal, yellow and white. A band of yellow and blue sits under the cobalt rim. Inside, a deep red glaze makes the bright colors stand out. Because every flower is painted by hand, small variations are part of the piece, not flaws.
