Black and White Ceramic Mug – Hand-Painted Historical Stag Design, 20 oz

This black and white ceramic mug is hand-painted and glazed by Rezgar Mamandi at Manna Pottery in Sterling, Virginia. A stag stands inside a red-outlined arch on a black ground covered in a white crackle-tile pattern, and the deep red glaze inside the cup adds a bright surprise with every sip. It holds 20 oz (about 2½ cups) in a body 4″ (10.2 cm) wide and 4¾” (12.1 cm) tall.

The Historical Stag Motif

The design follows the historical style of our studio: a single stag with branching antlers, framed by a red-outlined arch like a figure set into a wall niche. The black surface is covered in a fine web of white lines that reads like old cracked tile, and a glossy black handle ties the piece together.
